As an American Express Cardmember, you are eligible for the Card Annual Travel Benefit
$100 credit to Cardmember’s account once a year if purchase a cruise or vacation package $3,000 or more. This is a total booking value, regardless of the number of travelers.
The benefit does not apply to independent air, hotel or car rental reservations.
The $3,000 spending threshold is total package price, including taxes, insurance, etc.
Since this is a Card benefit, the legal terms & conditions do not limit cruise & vacation package operators to Consumer Travel’s Preferred Suppliers, however, as always, you should steer clients to our carefully selected and reputable preferred travel suppliers.
Booking & Travel can take place anytime.
(The Benefit is credited to a Cardmember’s account at time of final payment, therefore a Cardmember is redeeming their 2007 Annual Benefit if making final payment in 2007, their 2008 Annual Benefit if making final payment in 2008, etc.)
Vacation must be purchased through a participating American Express Travel Services location in the U.S.
Benefit is only available one time per Card account per calendar year (based on date of final payment) - regardless of the number of qualifying vacations booked.
Cardmembers having multiple accounts may only redeem one Annual Travel Benefit per vacation booking.
Both deposit and final payment must be made on an American Express Card.
Benefit is not valid for group bookings and may not be combinable with other promotions or discounts. (To repeat, the benefit is combinable with all supplier-sponsored promotions. The “may not” is there for protection in cases of price-matching discounts or locally-funded offers. See “combinability” section below. In the case of groups or extensions on group bookings, offices may use their discretion to offer the Card Annual Travel Benefit if the economics allow and it’s necessary for client goodwill.)
Although the Annual Travel Benefit is not considered an embedded benefit of any corporate Cards since it is a leisure travel benefit, you may honor the offer if a client is paying with a Small Business or Corporate Card and their company policy allows them to pay for personal vacations with it.
Cardmember agrees account may be debited $100, depending on initial credit amount, if vacation is cancelled for any reason and the purchase price (less any applicable cancellation fees or penalties) is credited to the account.
American Express reserves the right to withdraw or alter this benefit at anytime without advance notice.
